Ecuador, prov. Chimborazo-Cañar border (western escarpment): E 4014-4052; Between Sta. Rosa (8,300 ft.) and Joyagshii (9,000 ft.).
Tree 4.5 m. Lvs very deep green above; white pubesc. below. Bracts pale green under the pubescence. Ray and disc flowers both yellow at first; ray fls yellow for long time , disc fls soon brownish. Anthers pale brown; stigmas yellow.
